Final Fantasy VII will bring its classic RPG gameplay to the iPhone and iPad this summer

Final Fantasy VII will expand to the iPhone and iPad sometime this summer.

Widely regarded as one of the best games ever made, Final Fantasy VII will make its way over to the iPhone and iPad sometime this summer. According to Polygon, the reveal was made by Square Enix executive producer Shinji Hashimoto at its E3 2015 press event. However, no other details about the iOS port were revealed.

First released in 1997 for the original Sony PlayStation console, Final Fantasy VII was an immediate hit and was praised for its 3D graphics (a first for the series), its gameplay and its detailed cut scenes. A graphically revamped version of the game is due to be released for the PlayStation 4 later this year.
