According to a leak on a Chinese website, local manufacturer Elephone may be the first to launch a device featuring MediaTek’s recently announced Helio X20 SoC with a deca-core CPU.
Based on the leak, the Elephone P9000 is scheduled to make its debut October 20, boasting a price tag of $500. The MediaTek hardware powering the device — the MT6797 — is the successor to last year’s octa-core MT6795, and features a tri-cluster architecture that includes two Cortex A72 clocked at 2.5GHz and eight Cortex A53 cores, four clocked at 2.0GHz and four at 1.4GHz.
