Apple Watch pre-orders reportedly coming to Italy and more on May 8

The second phase of the global Apple Watch rollout will reportedly begin on May 8, with pre-orders going live in Italy and more.

May 8 is said to be the date that Apple Watch pre-orders will begin in Italy, among other countries. This would be the beginning of the second wave of the watch’s global rollout. Apple Watch display tables will apparently be installed in Apple Stores on May 7, for the beginning of pre-orders and try-on appointments on May 8, according to iSpazio (translated from Italian):

Then we reveal, for the very first time , that as of Friday, May 8, Apple will open pre-orders for the Italian Apple Watch and from May 8 there it will already be in Apple Store to try it on your wrist.

In addition to Italy, Spain is also said to be getting in on the Apple Watch action on May 8. No word yet on what other countries might find themselves in the second wave. Like the initial launch countries, pre-orders for the Apple Watch are said to be restricted to Apple’s Online Store at first.

The Apple Watch first went up for pre-order on April 10 in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, and the UK. Deliveries of the watch will begin arriving to customers in those countries this Friday, April 24.
